Hello,
When a translator is going through a Flare doc how do they translate the terms like "Chapter" and "Page" that appear to be auto-generated by Flare? The output target is for PDF.
Thanks

Welcome to the forums!
Bear in mind that translators generally translate the source files, not generated output. They touch different ones of the Flare files, including style sheets, so wherever that word "chapter" or "page" is stored, they'll change it to what it needs to be.
I'll poke one of my translation pals to enlighten us further. Hey, jennifer_alt!!

Hi amped255 and Nita,
The Chapter and Page strings could be in a few places, depending on how you set up the Flare project:
1) Page Layout files - if these strings are live text in your page layouts, then those files should be translated.
2) Stylesheet - if these strings appear due to an autoformat that's been setup in the stylesheet, then those phrases have to be translated in that stylesheet.
3) If "Page" appears because you inserted a system variable, and it's not live text that you entered in the page layout, then it probably comes from the Language Skin. Flare already has default skins for several languages, but if you run across one that does not have a skin pre-translated by MadCap, then you or the translator will have to input the translation into a new Language skin for that language. Here's a thread about language skins: http://forums.madcapsoftware.com/viewto ... =9&t=10540
I hope this helps!
