Hello all,
Is this a bug?
I inserted a footnote but was disappointed to find that Flare uses the current font size and color for footnotes (not normal behavior - in my experience). When I attempted to change the font size, of the footnote number, from 20pt to 8pt, MadCap popped up the error, ""Failed to run command 'Font Size'. Exception: Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
Is this a known issue, seems odd that I cannot change the size of a footnote. Changing the color of the footnote was a strange process. When I selected just the footnote and changed the color, both the footnote AND the accompanying text changed colors. Then I had to select the text with the footnote reference (sans footnote) and change its original color back.
Thank you
Error when attempting to change font size of footnote

Re: Error when attempting to change font size of footnote
I definitely must get used to editing the css.
So, I went and searched for the footnote font in the css. I 'successfully' changed the font size and color.
Still, that pop-up error message probably should not happen?

Re: Error when attempting to change font size of footnote
That's definitely not a normal error. Although you successfully edited the CSS, are the in-line changes that you originally attempted to make to the footnote still there? You can try and remove them by selecting the footnote block and then using the "Unformat" button on the Home tab (in the Font section, looks like a B with a red x at the bottom).
If that doesn't work then I would close out and restart Flare to see if the error goes away. And if that doesn't work then I would reboot to see if the error goes away.
Okay actually before trying the reboot route, I would look at the HTML in the text editor to see if I had inadvertently added something crazy to the tags. Admittedly this may not be too helpful if you're not familiar with HTML. But if/when you are, it's very helpful!

Thank you. The 'unformat' option will definitely come in handy.whunter wrote:That's definitely not a normal error.
