I've found some forum posts from 2008-2010 indicating that even then some users were able to use VMWare or Bootcamp to run Flare on an Apple / MAC platform. A few users complained of .NET hiccups but what the heck, .NET isn't especially reliable on Windows.
More to the point, I haven't found anything more recent and so am curious what the current situation is. I have no reason to believe that what once worked no longer does. Instead, I'm curious what sorts of tools or virtual environments or the like are working well these days (September 2013).
I ask because I recently attended an Adobe FrameMaker demo that was run in a virtual environment that was in turn running on a MAC laptop. The presenter indicated that FM ran well under his choice of virtual machine. Another attendee half-jokingly commented that her instance of Windows 7 ran more reliably under MAC virtualization than it did on Wintel hardware.
By the by, I know almost nothing about MAC hardware or software, so please don't assume I'll automatically understand references to certain packages or tools...
Cheers & thanks,
Riley

Hi Riley,
Yep, I'm running Flare 9.1.1 on a Mac. I've got a MacBook Pro running OS X, on which I run VMware Fusion V6.0, on which I run Windows 7 Professional, and then lots and lots of other applications: the full MadPak, Office 2010, SnagIt, Acrobat Pro, just to name a few. I think I've had the Mac crash all of once, and that's since getting it in March. The Mac has 16GB of memory, of which 8GB are used by Windows et al. I tend to run the machine more as a Windows-based PC than as a Mac.
Overall, works like a charm, and I love the Retina display, which is kind to my middle-aged eyes.

RETIRED, but still fond of all the Flare friends I've made. See you around now and then!
