Hi All,
In my HTML5 output I select a "Startup topic" that is in a folder. However, when the output is opened in a browser the navigation pane on the left hand side doesn't open to the topic (like it does in case of HTMLHelp CHM output). Instead it shows the default collapsed folder tree. What can I do to make the navigation pane open to the startup topic?
Also clicking the links inside topics is followed by the navigation pane. It remains static. How can I get around this behavior?
Thanks for the help in advance.

(I don't have Flare open at the moment so am going on memory.)
In the skin, look for and select the check box that says something like "Auto synchronize TOC." I cannot guarantee that the TOC book will be opened automatically when the Help first opens, but the TOC will sync with the current topic as you move around among topics.
I hope this helps.

RETIRED, but still fond of all the Flare friends I've made. See you around now and then!

Wonderful, works like a charm.(I don't have Flare open at the moment so am going on memory.)

That was going to be my next question, but this setting solved it. I wonder why it's not enabled by default...I cannot guarantee that the TOC book will be opened automatically when the Help first opens, but the TOC will sync with the current topic as you move around among topics.
Thanks for the help.
Re: HTML5 output: startup topic not opened in contents
Thanks for the help - I just went looking for how to do this and came across this post.
Just got mine working (very exciting!). I didn't have any problems getting the folder to open when you first open the webhelp though..
Are there any particular circumstances you have set up?
I have my startup topic set to the one that's sitting inside the folder and it opened it up by default because that's the one it's pointing to.. is your topic sitting inside the folder you want to open?
