Hi all,
Google has indexed our help pages that are located in the output's Content folder.
See for example:
http://files.zend.com/help/Zend-Server- ... ponent.htm
There are two issues that have surfaced as a result:
1) Users reaching the page via Google don't get the Help frame/navigation
2) The caption/tooltip of the open tab in the browser displays the page title but does not display the context, i.e the name of the help system the user is viewing, something he would see if he was opening the page within the frame.
Anyone know if these two issues can be handled, and how?
Many thanks,
Daniel

Re: Problems with Google
Do you ever want anyone see the help without navigation? If not, then you could add code that basically clicks the Open topic with navigation link.

Re: Problems with Google
There's an option in the skin, I think it is (maybe target), where you can enable the option to have the "Open with navigation pane" link automatically added to the top and/or bottom of the page when the page is opened directly. If you want to force the page to open in the full help, then you'd probably have to add some JavaScript to the topic toolbar or masterpage that somehow checks to see if the topic was opened directly and if so then basically make a CSH call to the same topic. The downside is that the user will probably see the full topic then the browser refresh to show the topic in the full help.
You could also submit a feature request at https://www.madcapsoftware.com/feedback ... quest.aspx asking for a field on the target that when checked will do the above coding for you, so you're always forcing topics to open in the full help, even if they're opened directly via Google or some other search engine.

We're experiencing the same issue, and would prefer that users get to the full help frame/navigation when clicking on a Google search result. I just submitted a feature request.
Have you had any luck with a workaround for this issue?
Thanks!
