Flare 9.1.2, WebHelp target, Performance tab.
Is anyone else seeing a Glossary section appearing on top of the Search Database section?

Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
What sort of target do you think you have? The HTML5 target does have a Glossary section, but I see it above the Search Database section, not partially overwriting it as you see it.
So, could this be a Windows oddity? If so, a reboot should clear it (or even just closing and reopening Flare, perhaps).
Or perhaps at some point, have you switched your target between WebHelp (which doesn't have the Glossary section on the Performance tab) and HTML5, which does? If so, perhaps Flare has managed to get itself confused, and is trying to display some properties from each. You could test this by creating a brand new target of the type you really want, and setting all the properties from scratch. If the problem goes away in a brand new target of the correct sort, it's probably a Flare bug.

Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
Thanks Marjorie. Unfortunately I see the same thing in every WebHelp target in every project (even a brand new one). My colleagues aren't seeing this at all, so I'm beginning to think that my copy of Flare has somehow been corrupted.
Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
What happens if you select Window > Reset Layout in Flare? That may just possibly reset something that has been broken.

Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
Good suggestion, but it didn't work. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to try a re-install.
Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
Before you do that, there are a whole load of Catapult files in the Flare app data area that MadCap support often ask you to delete in case of problems. If you reinstall, those will be retained, I think. Let me check where those files are when I get back to my PC.
You could also delete Analyzer and Output directories, and Project\Users if you haven't done so yet. That may fix it.

Re: Puzzling Flare UI Issue
Hi again,
The files and folders to try deleting are below C:\Users\<<your username>>\AppData\Roaming\MadCap Software\Flare. But note that will delete all your Flare window layouts, your QAT and anything else you may have set up in your Flare environment that isn't project-specific. So I'd suggest you take a copy of all these files first, then delete the originals, close and reopen Flare. If that fixes the problem, you can replace the deleted files from the copies one at a time until you find which one is the culprit.
Good luck!
