Flare v10 - Crashes

I was experiencing the same or similar problem. My solution was to change to a split TEXT/XML editor screen. I haven't experienced one of those XML/TEXT screen switch crashes since.

I've noticed there's a fix in 10.2 for a memory leak when switching between Text/XML editors. Hopefully that will improve things.

Got it, switching back to the separate TEXT/XML windows now (never liked the split screen mode)! Thanks for reading the release notes for me.

I also had a similar problem and, just in-case the memory leak fix hasn't solved it, the advice I was given by Madcap was to use the Web Layout view for the difficult topics. I had a few topics that would not work due to the large numbers of images in a large file but they would work well when in web layout (even though i was using it for print). In hindsight, I have a better structure for the topics now so the topics are smaller.. but back when I created it, I didn't know better.

Same experience here, with Flare v10.2.0.

Now, all my crashes are now happening in MadCap Capture.

Yup, I'm in the crashing boat.
Flare can crash 10+ times in a day (depending on what I'm doing and how much I'm using Flare). Recently I've been having issues renaming files and I get the 'submit crash report' to Flare window. Not sure who gets to handle all the crash reports but I'm keeping them busy! I also get crashes where no 'send crash report' error comes up (i.e., I get the semi-transparent white screen and 'not responding' appears in the title bar).

@CATERAF, do you still get this crash error? I'm renaming files and moving them and I get this same error report when updating links. Is there a workaround?

Did you report this to MadCap? You may get a quicker and more useful response from them than from the forum.

I'm on 10.2.2 and yes, it appeared to have corrected that problem.

Unfortunately, I have another consistent crash issue but because I am familiar with its behavior... and an s/w update is forthcoming and I'm sooo busy, I will just accept it a little longer.
