Good day,
I have been unable to find the correct SKIN settings to edit the "Home" button URL when the website adjusts and changes to the "mobile friendly" view. The Home button is visible, but when it is clicked, nothing happens.
Can anyone point me to where I can find the documentation that details how I can correct this in Flare V10? Or, if someone knows how I can do this, please summarize the actions?
Thank you.

I am a bit surprised that the 'mobile friendly' view changes the characteristics of buttons so... perhaps I am misunderstanding the question.ckirby wrote:Good day,

The buttons are set in your *.flskn (skin) file, usually, DefaultHTML5.flskn or what ever skin you are using.
Open this with your editor and search for the Styleclass with the name of the button, in your case, "Home" but usually the home URL is:
Code: Select all
<Property
Name="Click">window.location.assign('#');</Property>
Anyone want to chime in?

Re: Set Flare V10 Home button in HTML5 Responsive Output?
Thanks for the comments so far and being interested in helping me solve this issue for the Flare 10.1 HTML5 responsive website.
There are two "buttons" at work here in the skin.
The logo in the header is working correctly as the default settings suggest. You click the header image and it takes you to the index file (first page) as defined in the TOC. No issues with this item.
What is not working is the "Home" button (looks like a house) that is only visible when the browser window's dimensions call for the Tablet and Mobile site responsive format changes. Specifically, the Content TOC dissapears (slides left) and is replaced with a 3-lined image next to the header logo that opens the navigation pane that includes the Search box, Home button, and Contents menu. See attached image for a visual example.
It's the Home button that isn't working. Clicking it does nothing.

I think it's a bug, as it doesn't work in the Flare v10 online help:

Re: Set Flare V10 Home button in HTML5 Responsive Output?
Folks,
The issue I am reporting and looking for help is not a bug, but as designed.
The "Home" icon and its name suggests that the on-click action takes you to the index page for the content. This is not the case. The header images completest that action.
The "Home" icon collapses the Content bar and topics underneath. Which, honestly, seems like an action that could be handled by simply clicking the Content bar.

If you open the Contents, Index, Glossary, etc, then click the Home button, you are returned to the home of the navigation page.

Re: Set Flare V10 Home button in HTML5 Responsive Output?
Using the "Home" button to return to the "home" of the navigation pane doesn't make much sense. First, if that's the intent, then the button should be called "Collapse all in navigation pane" or something like that. Second, after all have been collapsed, the Home button is still clickable. There should be some indication (mouse-over text, different font color, etc.) to indicate that it is no longer active. Otherwise users will continue to click it, expecting something to happen.
So I would suggest that the Home button be customizable. It would be nice if the author can select to remove it, to rename it, to use a different icon (other than the house), etc.
In our navigation pane, we only have Contents (not index, glossary, etc.) so a button for collapsing all topics under Contents doesn't seem useful.
