setting default units for Flare

Post by udonna »

Hello,

I'd like to change the target PDF page size. Inches don't make sense to me (which is what appears in the default targets that I want to change), but cannot find where the default units are changed.

Using the trial version of Flare 10 on a Windows 8 Surface.

Thanks, Donna

Welcome to the forums! :D

Page size is controlled by the master page you are using to generate the PDF.

When you add the master page there are a range of presets including A4, which most of the world prefers over letter.

When the masterpage is open you can right click the ruler and select other measurement units, such as millimetres or pixels.

You might want to check your regional settings for Windows. I find doing that makes a lot of default settings conform with 'other standards', although because I do that when I set up a machine, and haven't set up a machine for a while, I can't remember what settings in Flare are affected.

Many thanks Steve,
Am still fumbling around in Flare and couldn't find where that A4 Master Page could be selected from, so modified one of the default page layout sets and renamed it to A4 and the master is now using that set (?)--I hope.
Regarding the units, Flare doesn't seem to read my PCs regional settings, but when I started tweaking the page layouts there I could select decimal units as I wanted.
Thanks again, Donna
