I can create tables and format them as well.
But when I save the topic, it -and with it its contents - disappears completely!
I am on my third year as a user and have never encountered anything like it.
Any ideas?

I've not heard of this before. What version of Flare?
Is there any way you can try opening the files on another computer and see if the tables are still lost?
If you use the Text Editor window, do you see that table tags and content?

Are you use any kind of source control with Flare? I don't, so I don't follow the topics that closely, but I seem to recall reading something about a new product supported or changes to an existing supported product being rolled out with v10, so perhaps it's something related to source control and v10 (assuming you upgraded to v10).
