Link display in XML Editor gone wonky

Post by Sarianna »

Suddenly the XML Editor in Flare 9 is showing links sort of half-cut off along the bottom, like this:

I have no idea why this is happening. Have I inadvertently done something to the font or display settings? Any ideas?
Luckily this issue does not seem to affect functionality or output, but it is a tad annoying when I'm editing a topic full of links.

Ok, the good news is that I managed to find out the reason for this behavior, the bad news is that I can't do anything about it. The other shoe dropped when I noticed that also Flare's UI elements were having the same problem:

And I realized that I had just switched to a new computer with a different operating system and new display. Reinstalling Flare and moving over my project files was no problem, but apparently Flare can't handle it when the display text size in the OS is changed from small (the default in Windows 7), to medium, which I discovered is more comfortable for me with this new setup. (I didn't try large, but I assume it would behave the same way.)

So, since Windows' idea of small text is way too small for me, I'll just have to live with this ugliness in Flare. Or maybe I need to get glasses... 8)

Oh dear, the day you realise you need glasses to use a computer...

You could also check the resolution of the display. Devices are going higher and higher resolution, but if the physical size of the display is small it results in miniature objects.

I just discovered a similar issue and solution on my setup. Changing to 100% for the font size seems to do the trick, but now I really need my glasses.
