Missing Topics in Alias File - Flare 7
Missing Topics in Alias File - Flare 7
I recently received a new computer at work and installed Flare 7 on it. My project, which was created on my previous computer, now has a problem when I try to build it. When the build attempts to generate the alias file, I receive 200 errors that state - Missing topic: [file path/file name.htm]. All of the topics that are listed in these errors are located in the Content folder and are used in the project. I compared the alias file to the header file and they appear to be the same - 238 lines. (My previous computer used Windows XP and my current computer uses Windows 7.) Thanks in advance for any suggestions to help me resolve this issue.

How did you move the project? Could you have missed a file or two? A straightforward way to copy a project from one place to another is to zip it (on the Project tab click Zip Project and then click either Zip project or Zip and email project). That might fix it.
Started as a newbie with Flare 6.1, now using Flare 2024r2.

I moved the project over to my new computer again just now by using the Zip Project method. But I still get the Missing Topics errors when I try to build it.

Did you possibly miss some hidden files?
I reply quickly and then the brain kicks in...
Did you have any imported files from another project? if so, did you also move that other project over and is it in the same path where it was before?

Thanks for the suggestion. I imported all my other projects, using the Zip Project method. This did not fix the missing alias file but it did help with other issues!
I think the problem is resolved, so I wanted to post the solution, in case someone else has the same trouble. The folder structure on the new computer was different from the previous computer. So Flare couldn't locate the project topics during the build. By moving the project to a location that matched the same path on the new computer, all the files were found and the build completed without errors.
