Images within tables not displaying in PDF output

Post by Laurah »

Hi,

I've got a table of two rows and five columns. The first row contains five images, each in their own td. The second row contains some related text for these images. When I print the PDF output the images don't appear in the table.

I can't see the images in Flare's XML editor in Print layout, but when I select the option to "Show all images as thumbnails" then they are there. I can also see them in the Text editor, and they're there if I view the topic in Web layout or build an HTML5 output.

I've tried re-sizing the images, specifying the tr height, and played around with the PDF compression options, to no avail. The images build fine if they're not within the table.

Does anyone have any ideas about what's going on, and more importantly how I can fix this? I'm using Flare 9.1.2.

Thanks!

I'm not sure I can help but a few questions for you;

Do you have any column width specifications set and/or conditions applied to the table? Also, have you made any changes to images in Capture rather than inside Flare?

Also, when you print the PDF output (I'm guessing you mean 'build'), does the text appear normally in the table as it did inside Flare?

Thanks -

I've tried specifying column widths (in %) and without. I've also tried to specify a row height (in px) that is larger than the images, that didn't help either.

The table has no conditions.

The images are pngs, created by another department, and I've resized them in Flare (using px). I've tried to include the images in their original size in the table as well, still didn't show.

Text in table appears correctly. If I specify a column width or row height, those are honoured as well in the PDF output. If I place the images outside of the table they display correctly, and they show correctly in HTML 5 output.

It's not a huge deal as I can manipulate the spacing with blank spaces in the PDF output, it just means that I need to have two separate sets of images for print and online. I'm also just very curious about what is driving this behaviour.

Thanks,
