Multiple spellings of same glossary term?
Does anyone know the best way to allow for multiple spellings of a given glossary term? I know that Flare lets you insert several different terms (one per line) in the Glossary dialog, however this results in multiple glossary entries, one for each spelling or use of capitalization. This adds an undesirable redundancy to the glossary list when you want to have the term capitalized, or hyphenated, in some places and not others...

Re: Multiple spellings of same glossary term?
I want there to be only one spelling of the glossary term in the glossary, while having the ability to have glossary term links on multiple spellings. For example, defining a glossary term "action" which also encompasses "Action", "actions" and "Actions", but in the Glossary tab it only show one spelling of my choosing. Otherwise, Flare seems to be duplicating the same definition for every spelling I give it.doc_guy wrote:What do you want to have happen?

I would really like to see this included, as well. Maybe some kind of a flag for whether or not to include an item in the full glossary. Or, if you want to share a definition between terms, then just having two boxes, one for published terms and one for unpublished terms would be nice.TorontoFlare wrote:Does anyone know the best way to allow for multiple spellings of a given glossary term? I am surprised there are not more people clamoring for this. It was requested a full five years ago (2009), and then again two years ago, but it still does not seem to be a feature.

It's come up a few times each version and we always say to submit a feature request at https://www.madcapsoftware.com/feedback ... quest.aspx, because the more people who ask for something the more likely that it'll get added to Flare. So make sure you submit your feature request. Even if someone else says they already did, make sure to submit your own.
