Page order - ToC placement in page order
Creating PDF output. New at page layouts and such. I'm having a hard time getting my Copyright page to print before the ToC and I'm not sure what controls the page order. I have the Title page and the Copyright Page in a folder called Print Only and have included them in the ToC, but I'm not sure what controls where the output ToC ends up.

The output TOC will appear in whatever place you have put the topic that includes the TOC proxy in your Flare TOC.
If that is set as you want it and you are still having problems, take a look at the page layout or layouts you are using, and make absolutely sure you have a body frame on each page in the layout, even if you think you don't need it for a particular page. The lack of a body frame can cause Flare to do really weird things.

Re: Page order - ToC placement in page order
Good Morning Msquared,
I don't believe I created a TOC proxy anywhere.
I just have the TOC, but no proxy in any document. That's a nice idea, though and one I'll try.
I solved my own problem and this is how: I have two different page layouts: one for front matter and one for chapter pages. I had attached the chapter layout to my copyright page and I believe this is the reason. When I changed the layout it is attached to to front matter, the copyright page started printing before the TOC.
This may not be the official way it works, but it's what I did and since it's working, I'm carrying on to the next difficulty!
Thanks and have a lovely day.

Re: Page order - ToC placement in page order
While doing something else, I just spotted a target setting that may have been causing this behaviour.
On the target Advanced tab (for print targets, at least) there is a Generate TOC Proxy output option. If you say you haven't explicitly added a TOC proxy, I wonder if that's where it is coming from. if you click the (i) beside the option you should be able to work out where it's being placed. So if that works for you (now) all well and good. If not, add a topic to your TOC at the place where you want the TOC, set the page layout you require, and in it, insert the TOC proxy.
