I know how to create a cross ref style to the first h2, h3, h4 etc in a topic, but how do I create a cross ref to a specific heading in a topic?
As far as I can tell, this can only be done if you are inserting a cross reference to a heading in the current topic, but not in another topic in the same project.
Thanks for your help,
Yossi Karp

Re: Cross Ref to Specific Heading
Insert a bookmark by the heading you want to x-ref to, then in the dialog box where you select your x-ref there's a drop-down (not in Flare so can't say precisely) where you can select a bookmark.
Shout if that doesn't get you there and I'll be a bit more thorough with my description.

Thanks for that.
I thought about inserting bookmarks, but I was hoping that there would be a way to do it more auto-magically...
Thanks,

In the Insert Cross-Reference box, there is a drop-down at the top. You can select Place in this Document or Topic in Project.
Select Topic in Project, choose a topic, then, immediately below the window where you selected the topic, is a Bookmark icon. Click on that, and you will see a list of all the headings and bookmarks in that topic. Select away!
That bookmark icon is well hidden isn't it? If you want to xref to a heading, then you shouldn't need to create a bookmark. I think you will find that Flare will auto-magically create one for you if one doesn't exist.

Re: Cross Ref to Specific Heading
Ooo, Marjorie, thanks for cutting out a step.
Must admit though, I don't use this feature often, because I think that if a heading in a topic needs to be referenced, perhaps it should be a separate topic.
