Need X-Refs to link to H3 headings
I need X-Refs to link to H3 headings, but H3 heading are not showing up as options in the X-Ref dialogue. Suggestions?

If the topic you're linking to has an H3 heading, it should be listed in the Bookmarks (which is a bit misleading, imho).

That's the weird part. I
do have H3 headings, but the red book, the one I would click to reach the H3 headings, wasn't there.
There was no read book to click. I had to insert bookmarks and then link to those.

That is weird. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but you're sure the Link to menu is Topic in Project? This probably doesn't matter, but what version are you using?

The latest and greatest 10.2.0. I'll take another look at the settings. There is also a "Place In Document" link.

I noticed when using Place in this document that the heading styles are collapsed and I need to expand each level to get to H3.

Interesting. That may have changed in Flare 10 and I never noticed. I'll pay more attention next time.kwag_myers wrote:I noticed when using Place in this document that the heading styles are collapsed and I need to expand each level to get to H3.

If H3s have "mc-heading-level = 0" in the stylesheet, they will not show up under headings in the Cross-Reference dialog.

What would the print mc-format need to be for an h3 context-sensitive xref? I see a format where you can xref the first instance of an h3 in a topic but not a subsequent h3.kwag_myers wrote:If the topic you're linking to has an H3 heading, it should be listed in the Bookmarks (which is a bit misleading, imho).

You would need to create a specific bookmark in that instance, as x-ref jumps to a topic, rather than a specific place in the topic.smajors wrote:What would the print mc-format need to be for an h3 context-sensitive xref?
