What is Making My H2 Heading Hideous?

Post by erinep23 »

My H2 heading -- apparently it has high standards because it won't come near the <P> beneath it, even after I've changed the paragraph spacing to "1," it stays as far back as possible. What is the deal? What am I doing wrong?

Have you made the change in the correct medium? You could try making some other change too, like setting the text to red. If that doesn't happen either, you'll know that you aren't changing the correct thing.

Also, if that's not it, what is the spacing before your paragraph? Could that be where the space is coming from?

Does this happen for all instances of the heading, or just for that one? If it's just the one, do you have an empty paragraph after the heading and before the first real paragraph?

So I figured out that my basic H2 (I mean no class, no anything) was in the stylesheet multiple times. How that happened, I have no idea.

Earlier versions of the Flare CSS editor used to add changes to a style at the end of the file, leaving what looked like multiple entries. Because of the nature of cascading the changes would be picked up correctly when compiling, but if humans later went and edited the file they did not always look for all possible entries. This looks to be fixed now but I couldn't tell you when the update occurred. Could your style sheet and H2 entry have been around for a while and had several people updating it?
