I have not yet started using the "mark as new" indicator for new topics so am wondering if anyone has any best practices or suggestions. I'm struggling with deciding when to remove the indicator, when the topic is no longer considered "new". Is there a time frame or a best practice?
Thanks!

Re: Best Practice: Mark as New Removal
I usually create a "What's New" topic and highlight that with "Mark As New". I leave that on always as I update the topic with each new version.
I used to put it on topics that were new in the current major release, but I didn't think it added much, and you had to remember to clear out the previous version, and so now I just have the What's New topic.
When I used it it was only for major releases (like, for example, Flare 10, or 9, not for 10.1 or 10.2 unless there were new features added). I don't know if it was a "best practice" - just what I thought was necessary. One of the reasons I don't add it to topics anymore is we often release help where people are likely to hide the TOC and use search instead - no point working too hard on something that won't be seen.
