I import files from project A into project B. This afternoon I did a build in project B (as I have done MANY times today) and suddenly every path in the imported files has an extra /Resources directory. So the graphic that is in /Resources/Images/LCD is now shown to be in /Resources/Resources/Images/LCD. The table of contents show files in the /Contents directory but I'm getting errors that /Content/Resources/<filename> does not exist. Within files, hrefs now have /Resources added to the path. It is not every imported file nor every href.
We removed one imported file from the TOC in project B and then re-added it. After rebuilding the target, the problem was fixed in that file UNTIL I did the same for the other two shared files. After re-adding the other two files and building yet again, the error reappeared in all three files. We have shut down the projects and rebooted the machine but that hasn't helped either.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Help! Resources dir added to all paths
Re: Help! Resources dir added to all paths
More questions . . .
Do you do an auto re-import on build?
Are the extra references to /Resources in file paths appearing in the imported files, or in files that reference the imported files, or both?
Is it possible to go back to the project before the mess-up, and see if the problem occurs there now?
Has anything changed at all in any of the imported files? When you talk about reimporting just one file without a problem, then reimporting the other two and finding a problem, is it possible that one of the "other two" has been corrupted in some way?
Has the location of the imported files changed in the project you are importing them from?
Are your imported files stored in the same location in the project you import from and the project you import to?
Finally, have you let Contributor anywhere near any of the files involved recently? When you import files from Contributor, some of the locations of referenced files do get messed up if you aren't careful, although I can't immediately see how that would affect your import project.

Re: Help! Resources dir added to all paths
All good questions! Thanks for taking the time, Marjorie. I'm going ot answer the questions but before you spend too much time thinking about it, let me fill you in on what I've learned. I tried to recreate Project B (Import TO) from a brand new project. I got the same errors. I then removed the three topic files being imported and imported a file that has never been imported before. NO ERRORS. However, when I try to View Links on ANY file in Project B (Import TO) I get a barrage of NullReferenceExceptions. This is on files that were not imported as well as those that were. In the new test project, I do not get these errors on any file, imported or not. Maybe Project B is messed up?
My next steps are to create a template project and, using the same import file, bring in each imported file one at a time to see if there are any issues with each file.
Other ideas or thoughts?
Do you do an auto re-import on build? yes
Are the extra references to /Resources in file paths appearing in the imported files, or in files that reference the imported files, or both? In imported files only.
Is it possible to go back to the project before the mess-up, and see if the problem occurs there now? Yes, I can check out ta prior revision from SVN.
Has anything changed at all in any of the imported files? When you talk about reimporting just one file without a problem, then reimporting the other two and finding a problem, is it possible that one of the "other two" has been corrupted in some way? The imported files are new for this software release. Friday they had several final edit added. I'm not sure if the files are corrupt or Project B.
Has the location of the imported files changed in the project you are importing them from? I don't believe so. I had a contract writer who did a great job with VERY little supervision or direction. Friday was her last day. This started as we were trying to get final edits into her files, get them checked in, and checked back out to my system and built again.
Are your imported files stored in the same location in the project you import from and the project you import to? Yes. Graphics that were in Resources/images are still physically in Resources/Images, but the error says they are not in Resources/Resources/Images. Likewise, xrefed files that were in /Contents are still physically in /Contents, but the link errors says they are not in Content/ Resources.
Finally, have you let Contributor anywhere near any of the files involved recently? When you import files from Contributor, some of the locations of referenced files do get messed up if you aren't careful, although I can't immediately see how that would affect your import project. Nope. No Contributor. There are annotations in the files but only through Flare. (I had to go search the Help to see what you were referring to.)
Thanks again for your time, Marjorie. I'll keep you posted as I experiment. Any ideas or insight is very welcomed.
