Hi All:

I was able to create a book mark in a Snippet without any difficulty. The snippet is in a topic, and there is a second topic where I want to use the cross-reference. I can locate the desired bookmark within the topic that holds the Snippet, but when it populates in the second topic, I get "<MadCap:xref></MadCap:xref>". Is there a way to get the cross reference to show up correctly, or will it just not work?

I don't think you can have the bookmark in the snippet itself. When I do things like this, say when I have a heading and stuff underneath the heading, I'll have the heading be live text within the topic, I'll insert the bookmark there, and then the stuff underneath will be in the snippet. Then, if I want to link to that bookmarked heading from another topic, I can do so.

I have a very vague recollection that Paul Pehrson (aka DocGuy) once blogged about how to cross-reference into a snippet.. Maybe he'll stop by...

The above link no longer works (which is understandable) but I wonder if any updates in Flare have made possible what OP described. I need to do the same.

TLDR: It works, but you have to insert the xref manually. (I do this by inserting an xref to a bookmark in a topic and then editing that xref to point to the bookmark in the snippet.)
