Where are variables found in the Output?

Post by RonM63 »

Hi all

Please could someone advise where Variable values can be found in the Output of an HTML5 project? We have a help system that is used by two different products and, aside from the name of the product, the help is otherwise identical. It would be hugely useful to be able to inject a different variable value after the help is built and ready to deploy.

I was thinking it was in the .\resources\Scripts\MadCapAll.js file but couldn't see it? :?:

They aren't. When you generate an output, the variable is converted to actual text. You should create a second output (target) and in that target file, specify the new value for the variables. When that new target is generated, the value you specified in the target is what is inserted into the new output.
