condition tags not working in search results

Post by bennetty »

I have a topic that is using condition tags within the <title> tag. The tags have been applied to the word 'Customizing' and are tagged for UK-English and US-English outputs:

Code: Select all

<title>ClassFlow Presenter - <MadCap:conditionalText MadCap:conditions="HTML5.US-EN">Customizing</MadCap:conditionalText><MadCap:conditionalText MadCap:conditions="HTML5.UK-EN">Customising</MadCap:conditionalText> Presenter</title>
When I view the US-English output for example, these tags work fine in the main body text. But when you perform a search, the results seem to ignore the tags and display both versions of the word 'Customizing':
Your search for "customizing presenter" returned 28 result(s).

ClassFlow Presenter - CustomizingCustomising Presenter
In Presenter there are options for customizing your workspace so you can easily reach and use the tools you need when delivering lessons at the board.
lesson presenter/customizing presenter.htm
Please could anyone confirm if they have used condition tags successfully in their title tags.

Many thanks
Nicola.

I don't think that works actually - I'm guessing you entered that condition manually in the text editor, as I can't see how you could insert it in Flare.

If you leave the title blank, Flare will automatically set the title based on the topic heading; if you did that, then you could set the conditional text on the topic heading, and the title will be the same.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for your response. Yes I did have to enter them manually, so I guess that's why they don't work.

I will leave the title blank to pick it up from my topic heading as you suggest.

Thanks
