Flare Index Window Not Updating [Resolved]

Post by asmith »

Hello,

I am using Flare v10.2.2.

The Index Window (View tab > Index Window) is not updating, but I am not sure why. Whenever I open and view the Index Window, some entries are populated with the assigned topics and some are not. The actual indexing itself is working when I publish my HTML5 project. However, I cannot seem to get the Index Window updated correctly so that I can actually edit without messing things up. Whenever I view a topic I know is assigned, the keywords are correctly in place. It just seems to be the actual window that isn't updating.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Worked with the MadCap Support team to resolve this issue. It was something on the backend of my system that was causing the issue, and it is now resolved.

To resolve this issue:
  • 1) Close Flare.
    2) Browse to the folder with your Flare project using Windows Explorer
    3) Delete the Analyzer and Output folder(or move the Output folder to a different location if you do not want to lose any previously built outputs)
    4) Browse into your Project folder and delete the "Users" folder inside
Reset Flare’s UI:
  • 1) Navigate to C:\Users\[Your User]\Appdata\Roaming\Madcapsoftware\Flare
    2) Select and delete the CatapultMDIEditor folder
Please also try performing a repair of all the instances of Microsoft .NET Framework on your machine by following the steps below:
  • 1) Open Windows Control Panel
    2) Programs and Features
    3) Search for Microsoft .NET Framework
    4) Right-click the item > Uninstall/Change > repair
