I have followed Dave Lee's customization example to customize the header text, however I need to make the header text a variable since I am making a template set for several products. Any way this can be accomplished? I do have a variable "Product Name" in the project.
Thanks.

Re: Variable for Custom Text on HTML5 Header
The header text in my example will set the header title from the skin Caption; so you could just use a separate copy of the skin for each product.
I know one way that can pull a variable into the header, but it uses a jQuery load, so will only work in all browsers if the help is on a server.
There's an old discussion on this here:

Re: Variable for Custom Text on HTML5 Header
Hi Dave,
I followed your instructions, which were great by the way, but have one question: how did you get your Skin.css to show up in the build? I have to manually add it to the Content > Resources folder in the HTML5 output before the changes are visible. Otherwise, as you say, "the title will be in plain text and positioned in the top left"... obviously this is not desirable. I wouldn't expect to have to copy Skin.css over every time I create a new build...
Appreciate the help!

If it's not in the output, then I guess it's excluded because you're using the option Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target in your skin Advanced tab.Titus wrote:I followed your instructions, which were great by the way, but have one question: how did you get your Skin.css to show up in the build? That option will remove skin.css from the output, because Flare doesn't think that it's linked to anything - Flare can't 'see' the link in the script. If you really need to use that option, you'll need to include a link to the skin.css somewhere in your project where Flare can see it (e.g. a topic).
Re: Variable for Custom Text on HTML5 Header
Yup, I think that was it! I included a reference to the stylesheet in one of the included topics and it seems to work now!If it's not in the output, then I guess it's excluded because you're using the option Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target in your skin Advanced tab.
The other option for me was to include (in the jQuery) an href to the local version of Skin.css in addition to the relative path. Would that even have worked?
Anyway, thanks again! You rock!
Re: Variable for Custom Text on HTML5 Header
No, Flare won't 'see' any links to files that are in scripts, the reference to the file must be something regular like a link from a topic.Titus wrote:The other option for me was to include (in the jQuery) an href to the local version of Skin.css in addition to the relative path. (To check if Flare can 'see' that a file is linked, open the file and then look at the Link Viewer pane.)
