Hi,
I have had a project handed to me with a language selection dropdown that doesn't work (it's coded into the master page so it displays at all times). I've played about with it and have managed to get it working but can't get the selected language version to display in the parent frame - instead it displays in the main frame (so I end up with 2 contents panels) - see attachment.
I did try adding target="-parent" to the form tag, but it didn't make any difference.
Can anyone point me in the right direction? Any help would be much appreciated. Here's the code:
<form>
<select id="changeLang" onchange="window.location=this.value;" style=" min-width: 150px; ">
<option selected="selected">Language:</option>
<option value="http://www.controlnow.com/onlinemanual/ ... sh</option>
<option value="../de/Default.htm">Deutsch</option>
<option value="http://www.controlnow.com/onlinemanual/ ... ol</option>
<option value="http://www.controlnow.com/onlinemanual/ ... ªs</option>
</select>
</form>
Many thanks, Susan.

Re: language dropdown not working properly
As topics are within a frame, it needs to open the new help in the window's parent; so try replacing:
<select id="changeLang" onchange="window.parent.location=this.value;" style=" min-width: 150px; ">
<select id="changeLang" onchange="window.parent.location=this.value;" style=" min-width: 150px; ">

Re: language dropdown not working properly
I'm curious as to how this menu is setup (if you get it working, that is). I tried this in the toolbar, which didn't display correctly due to the frame height being too narrow. I ended up scrapping the menu and adding links, which I just happened to post yesterday in this thread. I'd much rather have a menu.

Re: language dropdown not working properly
Thanks Dave.
Ended up opting for:
<select id="changeLang" onchange="window.top.location.href=this.value;" style=" min-width: 150px; ">
and it worked!

Re: language dropdown not working properly
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has managed to add a language drop-down menu to the toolbar or even some tips on how this might be achieved.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Re: language dropdown not working properly
Drop-downs won't work in the toolbar because the menu stays within the toolbar frame and does not overlay the body frame. However, Flare 11 has a top nav feature that supports drop-downs in the toolbar.
