Oh dear, rather swamping the forums as I try to construct my first css for Flare...
This question is about images. I would like to define a style that forces the user to add a caption when an image is added, that is, if I insert an image it automatically adds a figcaption beneath it. I have styled the figcaption so that it autonumbers and sets the font, etc. and I've also styled the image within <div> tags so that it's always centred. What I've failed to do so far is group these all together.
At the moment I have to click on the div.centre class, then click on the "insert image" icon, select an image from the dialog box, then click on the figcaption style.
Ideally I'd like clicking on the div.centre class to automatically include the figcaption style after the image. I've read through several posts on this forum as well as braving the multitude of advise that Google presents (!) but I'm not succeeding in setting this up. Can anyone help me please?

If I understand you correctly, you can set the text-align property of the img style to center. You don't need a div to center an image. You can also add a style to img and select that style when you insert the image:Fiona wrote:I have styled the figcaption so that it autonumbers and sets the font, etc. and I've also styled the image within <div> tags so that it's always centred. Re: Images with automatic caption creation
Fiona, I don't think you can add these kind of editing rules in Flare (whereas in some XML schemas I think you can do this). You could set all these things up in a snippet, and instruct users (other writers?) to use this snippet whenever they wanted to add an image. The snippet would contain the div and the caption as configured for your required style, and also a placeholder image with the instruction to "replace this image". To insert an image, the user inserts the snippet, then uses the Convert to text command on the shortcut menu, then replaces the placeholder image and completes the caption. But I don't think it is possible to force this behaviour through Flare.
