My current customer is asking questions that I don't know the answer to regarding search.
He is wondering is there is a way we can make the "thinking" animation on the interstitial page more pronounced. He hasn't even noticed that there is by default an animation while Flare is searching for the result. So he would like to use an alternative that is more obvious.
The other question for which I am trying to run down an answer is, can we add navigation to the search results page? I'm using Flarestrap for this project and hiding the navigation pane by default. I would like to find a way to apply the masterpage to the search results. I apologize in advance if this is easy, I've been chasing squirrels a lot lately.

I don't think you can customise the search results page, other than using the options available in the skin.
You could probably edit the results page source in Flare's installation folder, but that's not a good way to do things.
Anyway, I thought the whole idea of Flarestrap was to produce a single-page design that doesn't use Flare's skin (and frames), which would also mean there's no search - so I'm a bit confused that you're using the Flarestrap with the skin.
I must sheepishly admit that because the skin appears when I run the sample project for Flarestrap it never occurred to me to remove the skin. I think I need to reconsider my approach. Thanks Dave.

Yep, well the Flarestrap site and examples are of a single-page layout that isn't using the skin; i.e. topics are opened directly, rather than with the skin.
But saying that, Flarestrap is about integrating Bootstrap in a Flare project; and you can use Bootstrap with/without the skin.
However, using Flarestrap (or Bootstrap) is not going to enable you to add content to the search results page.
