Record failed under Windows 8.1

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and also new to Mimic

I installed the latest version (7.0.2) under Windows 8.1. If I try to start a record I get the message:

"Windows Media Encoder Hotfix is needed ..."

Then I can open the URL for the hotfix: https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/kb/929182

But I cannot install this Hotfix, because this is for Windows Media Encoder 9 Series and this is not working under Windows 8.1!

Any Ideas what can I do?

Hi!

The install worked for me after I ran the install file as administrator. Right-click and choose "Run as administrator".

I got the same message, as probably everyone else running Windows 8.1 will get. But Mimic redirected to a Microsoft url that doesn't work, so was lucky to find the kb929182 here from a german subpage. Have tried finding the Hotfix alot places but none of them works, and doing af new installs of Windows Media Encoder as well.
