Linking to PDF files

Post by jdfinn61 »

I have some pre-designed pdf files that I want to link to from Flare. How can I get the pdf files to be contained inside the project so that when I link to the pdf, my users have access to it from the output? I don't want to generate the Help, copy the files into the project every time. I want to be able to include the pdf files as static files that get put into the output every time I generate. Make sense?

Thanks,
Joanne

I've done this for my WebHelp projects by creating a PDF folder in the Content Explorer of Flare. Then I opened the folder in Windows and put the necessary PDFs in the folder, and then linked them to my project. The PDFs become part of the output folder contents, and can be published like any of the other files to a destination. If you are using source control, they can be included as part of that as well.
