How to generate a word output for a single topic?

Hi,

I am fairly new to flare and have been trying really hard to generate a word doc from a single topic. Following are the steps I followed to generate word output for a single topic:
1. Created a primary target
2. Created a new TOC
3. Added the topic to TOC.
4. Built the primary target.

Am I missing something basic here? I am not sure. I end up building the entire project and not the word output of the topic I need.

Sorry you're having so much trouble.

Basic questions: Are you sure that the target you have set as the primary target is a Word target and not an online target, such as HTML5 or WebHelp. From your description, it sounds like it's not set to a Word target. Alternatively, for your Word target, are you certain that you are pointing to the correct TOC, the one with the single topic on it that you want to output as Word? It might be that you're pointing to a larger TOC.

Thanks a ton Nita. I did set my target as word format and from your response I figured that I didn't link the TOC to the topic
