Importing topics with duplicate labels

Post by Liz_Marlowe »

Hi - My company is about to migrate our content from FM to Flare, and I was wondering if there will be conflicts if we have topics with the same names? For example, in several of our guides, we have different topics called "Configuration."

Thanks, Liz

As long as the duplicate topics are in different maps, there will be no conflict.
But, in the same maps you will get conflicts.
I suppose you will get a confirmation question to overwrite or not.

Thanks - appreciate that response. Can I ask what you mean about "different maps"? Are maps something you set up beforehand or after migrating your content? Just a little background - we currently manage FM books, and our topics are inside these FM files. We don't currently manage topics as separate files. Sorry - I'm very new to the Flare world. :)

For instance the following is allowed:
Map A
x.htm
Map B
x.htm

Not possible:
Map A
x.htm
x.htm

In my experience, you will get Configuration1, Configuration2, etc. You can then rename as appropriate.
