I am generating a skinless output to produce simple, HTML topic files that will be embedded in the firmware of a device. The device is configured through a browser serving its own configuration pages and the developers have limited the space for the UA to about 250Kb. The target is the HTML5 target with skin set to "None". The output is mostly acceptable but I am getting the following error:
20016: Generating alias file: Missing topic...
The list of topics include all of the files in the project that are not included in the TOC for the target. I have selected the "Exclude content not linked" option. If I allow content not linked, I don't get the warning.
Does anyone know why is the target producing an Alias file when there is no designated skin?

Re: Skinless output-Alias problems
If you have an alias file in your project set up to use CSH calls - it will be used in all builds that are not Print.
When you check that option to to exclude files, obviously all files that are not linked to the TOC items are excluded from the build and will not be in the output.
The compiler is giving you a warning that a topic that is included in the Alias file is not being included in the output because it is not part of the TOC

Unfortunately, the alias file is part of another output for the same project that will use CSH. I just set the target to ignore the warning. Kind of like the duct tape on the dashboard warning lite.

Be glad that you can set the warning to be ignored in the target! That is a recent-ish feature that I love. There are several "warnings" that Flare would catch on, but you already knew and understood (like external links, etc.) Duct tape over the dashboard warning about sums it up, except that in this case, you really know that nothing is wrong in the background, which is different than the ostrich burying its head in the sand.
