Language - Unexpected change

This may be the wrong list to ask, but Word Users may just have an answer.

I have a bulleted list of 9 items which contain printer escape codes. This displays in the .chm perfectly OK, and can be printed from the .chm perfectly OK.

However, when I build a Word .doc file, the 6th and 7th items, Word's Review comments, "Formatted: Spanish (International Sort)". All other items are English USA.

I have tried everything I can think of to change this, even highlighting the item and using Format: Language to select English USA at which point it even inserts an American flag indicator. And yet building into Word it's still Spanish.

Has anyone ever seen such an issue, and how did you fix it?
