Hi all,
We're testing and editing a new CSS for our team to use, and I'm seeing bullets that are enormous in the XML editor. The bullets are also pushed far to the left. The same issue happens for bulleted items in a table. However, the bullets look fine in online output. Numbered lists are just fine.
These bullets are using the Flare function/ul/li class, not a paragraph class. The CSS calls for these bullets to pull an image from the Stylesheets > Images folder. None of my other colleagues are having this same issue.
I'm on 10.2.2 (upgraded with the same issue from 10.2.0).
I think I might have selected or de-selected some image default sizing in the XML editor but now don't know how to fix it.
Thanks,
Brea

Re: Images (used as bullets) are too big in XML editor
Hello Brea,
It is helpful to also include an HTML and CSS except (encased between the (CODE) attribute). That way, it is easier to diagnose the issue.
Some questions and things to consider (in no particular order):
* It appears that the bullets are rendered too large.
* Is there a reason for representing a bullet as a graphics image instead of a font character? Looks like a typical 'dot' bullet that a font can render better.
If it is color you are after, there are a number of techniques you can use (i.e. spans). Here is an example thread on this topic: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6316
* I think you said that it publishes correctly. Have you tried changing your XML editor (Layout and Medium) views? What about preview?
* Have you look at the different mediums set in your stylesheet? Perhaps your custom bullets are set in the wrong medium?
Here are a few other threads that might help:

You could try the setting: File > Options > General > Automatically resize low DPI imagesbreaatkinson wrote:I think I might have selected or de-selected some image default sizing in the XML editor but now don't know how to fix it.

Hi Brea,
Did you find a solution to this?
I had the same problem when I first started using Flare.
Take a look at the last couple of posts in this thread for the solution: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=18306&p=96278#p96278
Cheers,
Ken

Re: Images (used as bullets) are too big in XML editor
Thank you all for your ideas!
Ken, you're great! This is exactly my issue.
Resolved: Click the drop-down with the eye on it (when in a topic), located on the local toolbar. De-select the option to "Show All Images as Thumbnails".
So nice when things are not as complicated as they seem.
