When I apply multiple conditional flags to a file using Properties>Conditional Text not all of the conditional flags save. I open and reset, then open and reset, again and again but there are always some that are not set. I can't find a pattern to which save and which do not.
I have a large amount of conditional flags to set on each file, so really, really, don't want to have to open up the text editor and apply them manually.
Setting Conditional flags in Properties does not save all
Re: Setting Conditional flags in Properties does not save al
I believe that the PROPS file (used to control condition tags) is probably marked as read-only for some files. I'm not sure why this happens sometimes (possibly source control), but this results in changing condition tags failing silently.
- In Windows Explorer, make sure that hidden files are displayed.
- Right-click your Content folder and select "properties"
- Uncheck the Read-Only checkbox, then click "Apply." It might process for a minute.
- Re-open the folder and verify that that the "Read Only" box is now unchecked.
- Try applying your conditions again. You should now be successful.

I've seen this problem too when applying (or removing) multiple tags to a file at once. This has been happening for some time, but luckily, I'm usually only applying two or three tags at a time. I should have filed a bug with Tech Support but have just dealt with this annoyance.
I believe .props files are only created if a condition tag is applied to a folder or if using MadCap Capture for your images, but could be mistaken. We don't have any .props files because we usually tag individual files only and don't use Capture for our graphics.I believe that the PROPS file (used to control condition tags) is probably marked as read-only for some files.

FYI - you don't need to be using Capture. A props file is created if you apply a condition to a graphics file.

Ah, good point! We apply conditions to the image once inserted into the topic, rather than to the image file itself. When I used Capture a while back, it created a .props file even when no conditions were used in the Capture file.FYI - you don't need to be using Capture. A props file is created if you apply a condition to a graphics file.

Yes, I've had that issue with folders and image files. I've never noticed with anything else, but that could be because of how I've set things up. I usually flag folders with condition tags, then move the files to the various folders.
You could possibly try that. Of course, that method gets complicated when trying to apply multiple conditions simultaneously, so it may not work for you.
