Picture Background

Post by sryan »

I added a picture to my Flare project that was hard to see against a white background. So I click on the properties button for the image and change the background color to black. Looked great on-screen. However, when I created an MSWord output the background was missing (I actually thought at first the image was missing because I could barely see it). I was able to re-add the back in Word, but I have a number of images like this. That means everytime I rebuild the MSWord output I'll have to locate every image and fix manually.

Is there an option I neglected to set? Or is this a bug?

According to Flare's Help, "Normally you would not see an image's background, but if you give the image a certain amount of padding, you would see the background around the edges of it." Unless the image itself is transparent, the background you put in Flare isn't going to show. Since you have a lot of images like this, you may want to try filters in the stylesheet: Image Adjustment with CSS Filter Effects. I think I would start with bringing the brightness down (-50%). If that doesn't work, try contrast. Also, the article states that this property is only supported by Chrome, but it looks to me like this article is at least three years old. It's worth a try, at least.
