NextTopic button goes to a previous topic

I build WebHelp output just fine. I start clicking through the topics using the NextTopic button. All is well until I reach a certain topic. When I click NextTopic here, it jumps backward to an old topic farther up in the TOC.

What could possibly be wrong here? I don't even know where to start looking.

Do you have one topic in the TOC more than once? That could explain the behaviour.
