Flare 11, TopNav.
When configuring TopNav appearance, what is the "correct" way to seize control away from all the hidden CSS style sheets Flare uses to override user facing CSS styles? Especially stuff hidden in a projet's Skins folder that cites, for example, Styles.css and uses the !important attribute?
I''m going nuts trying to configure the appearance of TopNav output. More specifically, I'm constantly using Firebug to inspect elements in a TopNav output simply to identify their CSS names. And then when I try to configure those styles in my own project's CSS, my settings get overwritten by CSS files Flare hides somewhere in the output hierarchy (Styles.css in particular) that also use !important attributes.
I've also tried opening HTML5 - Top Navigation and HTML5 - Tripane in the Skin Editor. Am I nuts or is there no way to change the color or style of the font in the navigation area at the top of the TopNav pages? If you happen to know where to change the font size and color, please let me know. (It seems odd to me that the correct way to change the size of the TopNav navigation bar requires the Skin Editor but the CSS styles contained in that navigation bar must be located and changed somewhere else…?)
Surely this level of confusion can't be right? Surely I'm missing some obvious way to gain control over the appearance of my Flare project's output?
What's the secret? What's the design philosophy? How can one in essence say, "I'd like to customize [output element], therefore I must go to [Flare tool or feature] to achieve that"?
Cheers & thanks,
Riley

First, let me say that I've just started my first TopNav project and my alcohol intake has increased significantly, i.e., I feel your pain.Phlawm53 wrote:Am I nuts or is there no way to change the color or style of the font in the navigation area at the top of the TopNav pages? To your question, the nav bar properties are disguised as Menu in the HTML5 Skin Editor (Styles tab).
