Allow Inner Table to Break Across Pages

Post by Evetsm »

Hi,

I have a table with a nested table. I noticed in the PDF that the inner table always starts on a new page and I strongly suspect that somewhere, a property has been set such that the table will not break internally at the start of a page. I have absolutely no idea where to look to determine what property it is. Both the outer table and inner table have a table style applied. A few preliminary questions:

-- Do table stylesheets allow you to allow/suppress internal breaks across pages?
-- For my own edification, Is there a property I can manually set to allow/suppress breaks across pages?

Thanks!

To see/change the page break settings for a table style:

Select your table & go to Table > Edit Style.

If all you see is the Preview, you may have to drag the top section down to display it. This can be tricky, because I always drag the line that is next to Preview. You need to drag slightly higher than that, on the change in color between the white area and the colored background that the word Preview is on.

Make sure that your Medium is set to print, or the appropriate name for your print medium.
Go to the General tab.
Scroll down to the bottom of the editor section and click Print Options.
After that you can see what you've got.

Thanks emsachs. I need help understanding what I see in the Print Options dialog. I think I'm interested in the Page Break options. I need to ensure that the table will break if possible, so I chose "Automatic" for the "Inside" option. Is that correct? All other options on the dialog are set to "(default)"

I realized also that I would like table headers to repeat at the top of each page if possible. Is that the default behavior?

Any suggestions you have are appreciated!

Thanks,
Steve
