TopNav - SearchResultsProxy

Post by kwag_myers »

I'm trying to display search results using my Topic MasterPage. If I use just the SearchBarProxy without the results proxy the Default MasterPage is used to display the results. If I follow Flare's Help instructions and add a topic with the SearchResultsProxy, the home page displays instead of the results. I've tried assigning both pages and proxies to the Topic MasterPage in the CSS. I've never used this proxy before and not sure what I'm doing wrong. Thoughts?

The search results proxy cannot be inserted in a master page.
It must be inserted in a topic (and only one topic).

When you do a search, the results are opened in a separate page (the topic containing the results proxy), hence why it cannot be in more than one topic.

I'm fairly sure Flare's help does say this (somewhere).

Sorry Dave for not being clear. What I mean by using the Topic MasterPage is that I want the results to appear like a topic (which is assigned the Topic MasterPage in the Properties). And you're correct, Help has in bold red letters not to insert the SearchResultsProxy into a MasterPage (and I haven't). The only place I've inserted it is in a blank topic. However, the SearchBarProxie is in the Topic MasterPage, which may be the issue(?).
