Copy function in Flare Going Crazy
Copy function in Flare Going Crazy
I use the copy function in Flare constantly and never had any problem with it. Now, when I attempt to copy a section of a topic and paste it into another section of the same topic, only the first line pastes, nothing pastes, or the text underneath where I want to paste is pasted. Does anyone have any explanation for this? It's really having a tremendous impact on my schedule. Thanks.
Re: Copy function in Flare Going Crazy
There are different levels of troubleshooting. Have you closed Flare and rebooted your machine? Always the place to start.
After that, the simplest thing to try is, if you are have a print medium and an online medium, and you are working in print medium, try switching to the online medium. Sometimes it seems like the print (PDF) medium gets confused about focus and selection, while the HTML5 medium works well. To switch medium, look at the top of the topic window. There are two menus for Layout and Medium. Set those both to your web/non-print or similar medium.
If those two options don't solve your problem, the next thing I would look at is fixing the .NET framework. To do this, close Flare and Delete the Analysis and Output folders. Then follow these instructions from Madcap Support:
Please try performing a repair of all the instances of Microsoft .NET Framework on your machine by following the steps below:
1. Open Windows Control Panel
2. Programs and Features
3. Search for Microsoft .NET Framework Client Profile.
3. Right-click the item > Uninstall/Change > repair
The machine will need to be restarted to complete the repair.
