Word wrap in PDFs

Post by jackdeland »

We have a lot of tables that contain things like function names. Problem is that the names wrap in PDF output, with a hyphen at the break. This makes it impossible to look these words up, since only a portion is on one line and PDF isn't smart enough to concantenate.
Has anyone come across this problem before? What was your solution?

If you are using a character style, like Code, for your function names, you can set
mc-hyphenate: never;
for the style in the stylesheet.

Bonus tip: For code you can also set mc-language: none; and then spell checking will skip your function names.

Thanks, but that won't work because some of these names would span the width of the table if not hyphenated. I don't see any solution other than creating a separate line for each, but I'm definitely open to suggestions.

Well, just to finish this thread, I will have to go to a smaller font and skinnier page margins, although I cringe to say it.
