I use Flare to convert FrameMaker files to Webhelp html. All of the graphics in FrameMaker are PNG, and are in frames. Most of them have a text callout with them. But when Flare converts them, it changes many of them to JPG. It flattens the graphic and text callout like it should, but it changes the PNG to JPG.
How do I stop that? I can only have PNG in my final html output.
Attached are two screen shots. See red arrows
The first one shows the exact same png with a text callout, that was converted to a jpg when Flare did the html conversion.
The second one shows a png as it should be.
Thanks.

HI Tom,
You can try fiddling with the Anchored Frames with Images options on the last window of the Import FrameMaker Documents wizard. They're explained here:
http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare ... ges_FM.htm
I don't think you can get what you need without some further work on your part. In our case, we ended up manually re-creating our images with callouts in a separate graphics editor.
Thanks,
Kristen

Re: Flare changes PNG to JPG in html output.
thank you. i had tried the various was to import, flattened vs not flattened with callouts. with not flattened, leaving the callout, most pictures and the callout text was skewed and jumbled, as it converted the entire picture and callout text to a jumbled PNG.
I wish there was a way, when you run the conversion, that instead of Flare creating a flattened JPG with the picture and text callout, it creates a PNG.

I'm pretty sure I requested this awhile back, but it's always good for others to also log enhancements with MadCap. They've got an enhancement submission page.
Thanks,
Kristen
