Hi all,
Sorry if this has been asked before. My understanding is that (by default), any topic in the Content Explorer is searchable in HTML output, irrespective of whether the topic is in the table of contents. Is it correct that the only way to exclude a topic from search is by doing the following?:
[*] Selecting the "Include topic when full-text search database is generated" check box in the topic properties
[*] Using conditional text on the topic
Ideally, we would like only the topics in the table of contents to be searchable.
thanks,
mark

Re: Excluding topics from search in HTML output
If you want the topic in the output, but not appear in the search, then deselect "Include topic when full-text search database is generated".
Using a condition would completely remove the topic/content from the output.

In addition, in your target, there is a flag "Exclude content not linked directly or indirectly from the target"
(Go to Project Explorer > righc-click your target & select Properties > Advanced).
If you link to topics not in your TOC, then they will still show up, but if you have insured the integrity of your project and don't have dangling links, you will be ok.
