Setting the language globally

Post by JeromeR »

I want to set the language once for the project. How?

More info
-----------------
I want to get rid of the wiggly lines on text that is correctly spelled.

What I've tried
-----------------
I added this attribute in the <html lang="de"> or this <html lang="de-de">, but as soon as I put the cursor in the text, the red wiggly lines appear.
I added this attribute to each <p lang="de"> tag, but that puts a German flag on every line. :)

Jerome, I think you're confusing putting language tags in topics with selecting the dictionary you want Flare to use for spellchecking. Flare has a lot of built-in dictionaries, including German.

From Flare's File menu, select Options (tucked away in the lower right corner), switch to the Spelling tab, and select the dictionary you want Flare to use.

That should should do it.

Thanks for attempting to answer. It didn't work.
• The German spelling setting won't apply and won't persist.

Here's a short video (no sound) of what I'm doing: http://screencast.com/t/NutudZ0wGWRg
This video shows:
  • 1. The text in German, all with red-wavy underline.
    2. The Spelling setting on Danish.
    3. I attempt to change it to German by clicking and by right-clicking the German row. Then I click OK.
Repeat all three steps to show that German is not the applied spelling language.

It's in the help here: http://webhelp.madcapsoftware.com/flare ... nguage.htm

To set the language globally, you need to set it on the Language tab in Project Properties.

To set a language for a particular topic, you'd use the Language tab in the topic properties.
Incidentally, you wouldn't set this using <html lang="de"> , the code for a topic would be <html xml:lang="de">

The Options > Spelling list just shows you what's installed and supported, not what is 'active' and will be used in a spell check.
