Build Failed: Target in use by other processes
Build Failed: Target in use by other processes
I get random occurrences of a PDF failing with the error that the target is in use by other processes. Running Flare 11 on Windows 7. I also have Creative Cloud which seems to be somewhat invasive. My solution is to restart the computer. Has anyone else had this issue or know a solution?

Have you attached a copy to an email? Is Acrobat open (even if your file isn't)? I find closing apps that have touched the PDF is the usual solution for me.
Started as a newbie with Flare 6.1, now using Flare 2024r2.

Re: Build Failed: Target in use by other processes
Haven't done anything to the PDF except open, view, and then close it. Some days I have an Adobe app such as In Design open but yesterday was a pure Flare operation. Had to restart twice. I think finding what touches the PDF will be the key.

I'd imagine viewing the pdf will open the default pdf viewer on your system. As you are running Adobe products I'll guess it's an adobe pdf viewer, and that is linked to creative cloud...dtmenges wrote:Haven't done anything to the PDF except open, view, and then close it. Yep, here too. Flare 11, Creative Cloud, Win10. Turn off all the Adobe stuff via the Task Manager to clear the issue without restarting. (Note that PDFs open in Chrome or another non-Adobe app do not prompt this error.) I also use Flare 10 for some purposes, but this doesn't happen (to me) in that version.I get random occurrences of a PDF failing with the error that the target is in use by other processes.
