Hi everyone. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I'm working in the advanced top nav v.11 of Flare. I create topics in my Content Explorer, get them written, and then add them to the TOC. Occasionally, a topic will not display in the TOC after I generate to HTML5. It shows in my Master TOC but not in the output. I can't figure out why. A workaround has been to re-create the topic, and that works most of the time, but it is such a pain.
Anyone else experiencing this behavior?
Thanks.

Re: Topics not appearing in TOC
I would check the properties, both of the topic and the entry in the menu. Perhaps a conditional is set?

Re: Topics not appearing in TOC
Conditionals are my guess, too. There's probably a condition on the topic itself or on the folder where it resides, and your Top Nav target is probably excluding that condition.

You've said "Occasionally", so it might just be that you're looking at an old cached page in the browser.
The first thing I'd try pressing Ctrl+F5 in the browser to force a refresh.
If that doesn't work, look in the output folder and check if the topic file is present or not.

Re: Topics not appearing in TOC
I am getting something similar.
I have missing items in my TOC.
I have looked - I don't see conditions.
I have even built a new target and a new TOC (smaller) and not only are some items missing, some items which aren't in the the new TOC (which is selected in the new target) do appear (things that were in the original TOC).
I am totally baffled - and peeved for having to waste time on stuff like this which should be the simple stuff

Re: Topics not appearing in TOC
You are sure that conditions aren't being set on the files themselves (or even on the folder in which the files reside) with a condition that is being excluded by the target? I'm not talking about conditioning on the TOC, but on the files themselves. (And topics will appear in generated output even if they are not on the target's TOC if the option to "Exclude content directly or indirectly linked to the target" is not set OR if that option IS set and the not-on-the-TOC topics are linked to from on-the-TOC topics.)

Checked whole project for incorrect conditions
Re: Topics not appearing in TOC
Do you have one TOC or multiple TOCs? If you have multiple TOCs, make sure the output you're generating is pointing to the TOC you're modifying.
Also, you might want to open the TOC file in the Internal Text Editor or Notepad so you can see the code behind. I seem to recall a bug that existed at some point where removing a conditional tag from a TOC entry left an empty condition attribute in the TOC entry and that caused problems. See if you have any empty condition attributes in any of the entries, and if so, delete the entries. Note that I don't have Flare open at the moment, so I can't definitively state that Flare doesn't always have a condition tag on a TOC entry now. Like I said, I think that was an old bug and it might not behave that way anymore.
