Creating One Glossary with Two Definitions

Post by ccat717 »

Does anyone know how to create one glossary with two definitions. For example:

Wallet

Technical Term

Business Term

I'd like to have to have two subheadings under the glossary term, and conditionalize them when needed (business, technical).

Thanks.

Hi,

From what I have seen in Flare's ui, it seems necessary to create a topic for this glossary item. If that is done, you may use conditions to both definitions and use the same conditions for your targets, depending upon their audiences.
The other solution is to create a second glossary and link different glossaries to different targets.

This is, at least, my current knowledge of Flare. There are a quite a few people who know Flare better than I do. :)

Glossary entries accept HTML tags. I've used these to format a numbered list with two definitions, similar to those in a dictionary.

Unfortunately, a quick test seems to indicate that glossary entries do not honor Flare's conditional tags. I manually added PrintOnly and ScreenOnly conditional tags but, unfortunately, both definitions displayed even though I excluded the PrintOnly condition.

HTML5 Help:
In my experience, glossary terms with HTML tags will only display correctly when viewed from the Glossary tab. Glossary terms within a topic and on the search results page will display HTML tags as raw text (e.g., This is a <tag>definition</tag>.).
