I need to convert a FrameMaker project to a Flare project. I installed Frame 2015 and started it, then I installed Flave V11. The problem right off the bat is that Flare claims that there is no FrameMaker installed. I made sure that Frame gets installed and started first before installing Flare.
Could it be that Flare V11 has no idea how to talk to FM 2015? I looked for an older Frame versions to download but came up empty.

Re: Flare v11 and Frame 2015
The answer is as expected, Flare 11 does not know that there is a Frame 2015.

Re: Flare v11 and Frame 2015
According to Wikipedia, FrameMaker 2015 came out in June 2015, which was several months after Flare v11 came out, so not surprising v11 doesn't support it.

Re: Flare v11 and Frame 2015
I figured as much and MadCap support confirmed that. By now I managed to dig up a system with FrameMaker 10 on it. I installed Flare and ran the import. The result is a hot mess, but I assume that is because the sources were a hot mess to begin with. Will need some work to patch things up. First compile with Flare turns out very promising, eliminated at least a dozen issues that WebWorks stuffed in before. I will get the project maintainable, but the more I look at it the more I am convinced that throwing it away and starting from scratch is better.

If you want clean files in Flare, you need clean source in FM or Word.

Re: Flare v11 and Frame 2015
I clean it up in Flare. I used Frame briefly a long time ago and I figure the cleanup is much quicker done in an environment that I know. It is mainly splitting the gargantuan chapters into individual topics and rewiring the ToC.
